Harvesting process in tea industry is known as plucking. It is done by picking the tender apical shoots which includes the terminal bud along with adjacent leaves. The picker nips off the tea shoot with use of the thumb and forefinger. This standard of plucking is necessary to ensure the quality and taste of tea.
