Chunmee is a type of pan-fired tea. Pan-fired teas have a nuttier, less vegetal flavor that can be light or intense depending on how the tea was made. As an example. Lung ching or Dragon well is also nutty, but without the smokiness and is much lighter than Chunmee.
Chunmee is similar to Gunpowder in strength and color, but with more smokiness. Chunmee green tea is slightly more astringent than other green teas and can be enjoyed with sugar, honey, or even milk. Chunmei is excellent for flavoring and scenting due to its strong flavor. Some African countries use it to make mint tea, similar to Moroccan mint tea made with Gunpowder tea leaves. This tea is an excellent daily green tea.
If you like Gunpowder tea, you might like Chunmee as well. Even though Chunmei is stronger than many other Chinese green teas, if brewed properly, high quality tea products will never taste bitter.
